WHEN: 17 May 2017
WHERE: Regent Centre, Chateau Impney, Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire
CLIENT: Teaching Schools Council
On Wednesday 17th May, school leaders from across the West Midlands once again gathered for the highly-anticipated West Midlands School Leaders Annual Conference. The focus of the day was on how the educational landscape is changing and ways that school leaders can get involved to drive the agenda for this new territory.
As per previous editions, OD&V was involved in all aspects of content production, operations and logistical management, leading on the development of the programme, engagement with school leaders from across the region, exhibitor and sponsor approach and communication, supplier liaison and full delivery with the support of AV partner Mercian Events. The programme design facilitated presentations and discussions around pertinent topics that allowed for the most important messages to be share with the 200+ audience. A number of expert speakers took to the stage, including Andrew Warren, Chair of the Teaching Schools Council, Baroness Estelle Morris, Ann Mroz, Editor and Digital Publishing Director, TES and Steve Munby, CEO of The Education Development Trust. Plenty of time was allowed for networking and table talks.
Ashley John-Baptiste of X Factor fame, now a respected BBC Journalist, inspired with his heart-breaking childhood story and challenging journey to university but also delighted with a live performance of an original song! Energising moments included musical interludes and learning juggling skills right after lunch. The full graphic record of the day produced live by Laura Brodrick of Think Big Picture captured all main elements beautifully.
