Case Study Great Worcester Showcase

Great City – Great Future: The Great Worcester Showcase

6th of December 2013 - The Guildhall, The University of Worcester Arena, WCCC

This Friday event aimed to raise the profile of Worcester on a regional and national level by introducing the city as a modern county capital where the opportunity for regeneration is being seized as work is carried out to deliver on residents' aspirations for a vibrant city. The proceedings took place across three iconic Worcester venues beginning at the Guildhall, followed by the University of Worcester Arena, and finally the Worcestershire County Cricket Club where Hamish McRae, Associate Editor of The Independent newspaper brilliantly inspired the 80 delegates present.

The day, under the close guidance of event host Roy Sheppard, managed to bring together disparate elements into a cohesive story - that included the first-time presentation of three videos; three venues and an organised walking route which took in some of the new City Centre developments completely kept the interest going.

“Opening Doors & Venues were a very professional and effective event organiser, who during the planning and development of the day were easy to work with and showed imagination and drive in bringing things together at relatively short notice.”  Iain Neville, Economic Development Team leader, Worcester City Council

David Blake, Service Manager, Economic Development and Planning Policy, Worcester City Council complimented OD&V on “…showing great attention to detail, providing invaluable advice on content and delivery and being a consummate professional in dealings with the City Council”
