A Reassuring and Expert Presence From Start to Finish

When internationally recognised experts convened the Synuclein Meeting 2025 in Cambridge, they turned to Opening Doors & Venues Ltd (OD&V) to bring their vision to life. Building on the success of the 2022 event in Leuven, Co-Chairs Professor Maria Grazia Spillantini and Professor George Tofaris, supported by an international scientific committee, relied on OD&V from day one to deliver an event that was both scientifically appealing and logistically smooth.

Seamless Branding, Marketing & Digital Presence

One of OD&V’s earliest contributions was leading a branding and awareness strategy. Recognising the importance of early engagement, the team designed a fully branded, user-friendly conference website using EventsAir; integrated University of Cambridge payment systems, enabling streamlined internal financial processing; built a strategic social media presence, crafting a comprehensive content bank to support pre-event marketing and registration

OD&V worked closely with marketing associates and the scientific committee to ensure all messaging reflected the international prestige and academic credibility of the meeting.

Strategic Sponsorship, Expanding Access

With multiple venues and a broad range of suppliers, effective budgeting was crucial. OD&V collaborated with the committee to develop a robust financial plan from the outset. They identified and engaged with potential sponsors, creating a compelling sponsorship proposal with tiered packages to launch a sponsorship campaign that significantly increased revenue

This additional income allowed the committee to offer bursaries and travel grants, making the event more accessible to early-career researchers and attendees from underrepresented regions.

Local Expertise, Global Standards

The multi-day programme offered a full spectrum of academic and networking activities, from plenary and poster sessions to a welcome reception, VIP dinner, and a gala dinner with live music. There was even a 5K fun run through the historic city.

Thanks to OD&V’s deep familiarity with Cambridge and its trusted local supplier network, every element was delivered with professionalism and polish. From venue liaison to AV and catering logistics, OD&V’s team ensured a smooth and stress-free experience for organisers and delegates alike.

Future Planning and Post-Event Reporting

After the event, OD&V coordinated the full post-event wrap-up, which included design and analysis of attendee feedback surveys and coordination with the University’s finance team to process bursary and travel reimbursements. The team facilitated and led debrief meetings and produced a comprehensive post-event report, including recommendations and templates for future event chairs

This final report will serve as a blueprint for future editions of the Synuclein Meeting, ensuring continuity and long-term value from the 2025 conference.

"From the earliest stages of planning, it was clear we were in the most capable hands with Opening Doors & Venues. The team became a valued extension of our organising committee, bringing clarity and structure to what can be an overwhelming process."
